the beggining

I need to take an image of a texture and replace the default wood. Then add a glass overlay over the top, with facettes, that are geometrical

ALteration of heights

I altered the heights of the different levels so that there is a possiblilty for people to go into the structure. But the I think I will change the design, similar concept will be kept though.

Structure

From my journals I will take particular aspects of them into my office space.

From L'Architettura:
I went to the library and flipped through this journal and found many of the featured buildings intruguing. Two in particular stood out for me. They were the two previous examples I entered below; Sistemazione Archeologica in Piazza Toscana (Marcello Guido) and DG Bank (Frank Gehry). So I may take influence from these buidings for my office.

From Green Places:
Because it is a journal about public realms and landscape, I think I can show many influences from this journal because it is a structure for commercial use, not domestic. So it affects the public, the people using the building as well as surrounding it.

From Presence: Teleoperators and Virtual Environments
This journals focus is on the advancment of the technological age. The virtual environment is an issue dealt with and therefore I can show influence of this magazine through my office spaces interior furniture as well as the exterior. It could be very modernistic, very geometrical, almost mathematical which is what I relate to technology, something thatis not organic, r something that is not natural

Journals

The three journals from the Architecture library:
-L'Architettura
-Green Placec
-Presence: teleoperators and virtual environment
L'Architettura
It is a journal in which is sometimes known as "L'architettura: Cronache e storia" which roucghly translates to "Architecture: reports and history"
It was founded by Bruno Zevi in 1995. He was an italian architect and was the author and editor of this particular journal.
It had its final closure in 2005 after 50 years and over 600 issues published.
When i looked through these journals in the architecture library, some of the buildings, structures that were shown were amazing. There was a range of simple then complicated and intricate, but most seem to be commercial architecture rather than domestic. Some examples include the Sistemazione archeologica in Piazza Toscana- Marcello Guido and the DG bank -Frank Gehry

Green Places

Green places is a journal in which was launched by Landscape Design trust. It is a fairly recent publication as it was introduced in 2003.

It is about landscapes and public realms, the use and management of public spaces, particularly in the United Kingdom. It is quoted on the website of the landscape design trust (http://www.landscape.co.uk/) that "the magazine has become an indispensable source for a wide ranging audience including landscape architects, park and landscape manages, countryside rangers, urban designers, town centre managers, environmental campaigners and community groups" Which shows the many different people it is read by.

Some articles include:
*the placement of a giant dome house into Chester Zoo ro make it Europes largest conservation attraction
*ten boroughs across London are set to become greener and more attractive thanks to 1500 trees funded by the mayor of London
*designers and planners creating spaces for play and sport to involve yough poeple and children
Presence:teleoperators and virtual environments
Presence is known to be one of the first journals in which investigated "teleoperators and virtual environments". The editors in chief are Mel Slater and Janet Weisenberger.
It seems to be a journal more about the technological and electromechanical advances. This can include virtual environments as well which directly related to second life. Some of the audience for this journal included engineers, computer scientistsm media and high tech people and even psychologists.
